Moore Blatch advises on two of London’s most exciting restaurant openings for the Imbiba group

The retail and leisure experts within the real estate team at Moore Blatch’s City of London office is delighted to have acted simultaneously on two of London’s newest and exciting new restaurant openings: The Bower in Old Street and 90 Barts Square, London EC1. The new restaurants are both within the Imbiba group and both premises were let from Helical.

The Bower, on Old Street is to be operated by restaurant managers Albion & East and is on the ground floor of The Tower building, a mixed use development. Albion & East is the company behind the hugely popular Canova Hall in Brixton and Martello Hall in Hackney – upscale urban bars with wood-fired artisan pizza, social food and in-house bakeries.

90 Barts Square is to be operated by Wright & Bell and is in a former linoleum and carpet showroom at the Barts Square redevelopment. Wright & Bell already operates Kitty Hawk in the City of London and the premises at Barts Square will deliver another distinctive destination, featuring Richard Falk, formerly of The Dairy and The Ledbury, as executive chef.

Richard Hughes, partner, and Kuldip Matharoo, senior solicitor, Moore Blatch acted for the tenants. Mayer Brown acted for Helical on The Bower and Clifford Chance acted for them on Barts Square.

Richard Hughes, executive partner, Moore Blatch, said: “These two new lettings, both from Helical, clearly show that the old property adage, location, location, location, rings true for both of these exciting new restaurants. With the launch of the Elizabeth line serving Farringdon, the Barts Square development will become one of the City of London’s most up and coming areas. And Old Street continues to thrive as a leading hub for technology firms and creative talent.
