Purchase of Fly Fisher Group Limited by Roxton Bailey Robinson Limited

Roxtons Field Sports has merged with the Fly Fisher Group to create one of the largest specialist fishing and shooting companies in the UK. The newly formed group will serve the travel needs of its clients both in the UK and abroad.

Southampton based law firm Moore Blatch acted for the buyers, advising Roxtons on the corporate reorganisation and financing of the transaction and subsequent organisational structure.

The project was led by corporate lawyer David Bright, who is an associate solicitor in the firm’s corporate team and specialises in mergers and acquisitions, business affairs, joint ventures, company restructuring and partnership matters.

Commenting on the deal David Bright said:  “All mergers need to be executed well in order to protect the capital in the business; however this is particularly important when companies serve the general public and have won their trust and loyalty.

Sound and practical legal advice is plainly essential, but it is also critical that there is strong leadership throughout the process in order to ensure that the new group takes and build upon the strength of the organisations that form the new company.”

Andrew Murray, Roxtons’ Finance Director commented:

“As a combined team, we bring operational and hosting know-how learnt at the finest lodges in some of the world’s wildest, most remote locations, and provide every level of supply and service to exacting fly fishermen who expect the very best.

Together we have unrivalled, detailed, up to date knowledge of all our rivers and destinations, as well as direct relationships with managers, guides and staff that ensure we can give our clients an unsurpassed experience of the fly fishing destination.

David Bright’s detailed knowledge of our business helped ensure that this transaction, his third with us since 2011, was completed diligently and efficiently.”
